About us

'sharing life with Arabian horses is full of joys;
my most special memories will always be of the six white mares
and one bay, galloping up from the back paddock;
tails up, snorting and cavorting, moving like the desert wind, powerful
yet graceful, hooves sounding like thunder' michelle klatt

The
horse has carried, fought battles, competed, and worked the fields for
man, for thousands of years. Their contribution to the success of humans
is underestimated. These most trustful companions are our treasures, and
their welfare must always be our prime concern.
Amongst all horses we have found the Arabian superior
in their beauty, versatility and temperament.

nestled within the beautiful
and historic hawkesbury region, mikala stud is our little
peice of paradise; there is so much to do in the area,
why not call us next time and we'll show you the
horses over a cup of coffee?
Our interest in Arabian horses began in the 70’s,
when my
father bought me a part bred gelding for my 16th birthday. Wanting
to learn more about the Arabian horse Brian and I visited many of the
Arabian horse studs around the Sydney district. We were inspired by the
stud owners who were very generous with their time and also in sharing
their knowledge with us. We purchased more part bred Arabians for riding
and had many years of fun riding through Kuringai Chase and on Sydneys
northern beachs. Moving to Murwillumbah in 1981, we met our friend Karen Hodges of Ramadan Arabians, from whom we bought our first
purebred Ashmael. read more.....
